Kathy J. Pedersen GranT to

Promote Equitable Care

Kathy J. Pedersen, MPAS, PA-C, has dedicated her career to promoting equitable health care for all. Her legacy includes an annual, competitive grant to equip PAs with up to $5,000 for projects that strive to follow in her footsteps.

Grantees display a commitment to equitable care built on innovative, actionable strategies to sustainably improve public health needs. Applicants are challenged to design programs that bring equitable care into the mainstream, bridge system gaps, foster cultural humility, advocate for the underserved, or otherwise develop resources for those in need.

Cycle Guidelines

Board Certified PAs, PA students, and PA organizations (accredited educational programs and constituent organizations) may apply. Funds are disbursed to the organization supporting the program, and projects must be completed within 18 months of funding. Grant recipients are selected after a competitive evaluation.

The 2024 application cycle is closed.  Completed applications will be reviewed this summer, and a funding decision will be announced in September.
